The period of idleness resumed.

The personal upheaval mentioned in the last post resumed with a terrible, terminal vengeance.  I have been living on a friend's sofa at the other end of the state, and may work at a totally different dropzone.  When I left I had only the clothes on my back, and it has taken me six weeks to get my stuff back, which happened a few days ago.  Oh my sweet bike (and 'Brit I'd like to hear about yours but can't access your 'blog), my new Asics and my orthotics and a pile of triathlon, running and cycling magazines.

To be honest, I've been sitting idle and feeling sorry for myself, smoking a pack a day and generally not being healthy.  So now I need to kick myself up the arse, go and pound some pavement and get the miles in on the bike.  Sadly where I am now it is totally flat, whereas up in Sussex it is very hilly which was excellent training, although as my heartrate used to get close to max and my anal lung kicked in didn't seem so fantastic.  My brother and sister in the UK have been doing some sprint tris and are moving up to Olympics.  My sister won a competition with a few others to spend a day with British Tri superstar Tim Don; the news article is here.

Once I start up my training again I'll post.  I hope you have a great season.

  1. Yes you do need a kick in the butt. If you see only negativity, you'll only have bad results. Start looking at the positive side of things...who cares if you're out of shape. It happens to everyone. Get your ARSE OUT THERE. I don't care if you walk 2 miles. Walking is better than sitting on the couch suffing your face and smoking. I'm expecting a full turnaround in your next post. :)

  3. The new bike is SWEEEETT!! Raced on Saturday and averaged 22.25 over 10 miles - AND won my division (Athena 39 and under). 2nd out of the water, 1st on the bike, 1st on the run. Roll on St Anthonys. No blog to access right now, must get back to it but I'll drop you a line via email (assuming you have computer access). You have my email - write and quit sitting around feeling sorry for yourself!
