A change of scenery

My personal upheaval is settling down somewhat.  I've moved to another dropzone (DZ) in southern New Jersey near Philadelphia.  I'm getting a divorce.  We'd been fighting for a while - she told me I should stop skydiving and get a "regular" job, and that I wasn't allowed to do any more of my "stupid races," amongst other things.  I'm within driving distance of the old place and I went up and saw my boy two days ago.  He's growing up so fast.  Ooh, that reminds me of a joke.

Two Palestinian men are in a cafe, sipping tea and talking about their families.  One pulls out his wallet, takes out a photo of a young man and says, "This is my eldest son.  He is a martyr."
The second chap whips a photo out of his own wallet, saying "This is my eldest son, he is a martyr also."

The first man sighs wistfully and exclaims, "They blow up so fast, don't they?"

I haven't started running again yet.  In fact my last run was on Oct 5th 2008 during the Montauk Mightyman!  I'm very out of shape, and have been getting twinges in my ankle again.  I shall endeavor to start some slow jogs this coming week as the weather is looking pants.  I am cycling again and can feel some strength returning, although I really need to stop smoking again as my lungs hurt when I'm out on the bike.  I haven't found a local pool yet.  I haven't registered for anything this year, but I'm thinking of doing Montauk again on Oct 4th.

Hopefully I'll have my own car soon.  There is a Bujinkan dojo in Philadelphia which is about fifteen miles from me, and an aikido dojo a little closer.

So, I'm still in a period of transition, and I'm coming out of the bitter mental fog I've been in.  Divorce is harsh, especially with a young child involved.  Obviously I need to channel my energies into training again....
